ABOUT US

Welcome

(...to a brief history of shoes)

Nobody can tell, who were the first shoemakers in history. However it is almost certain, that the Greeks and other people living in the Mediterranean learned the art of shoemaking from the Phoenicians. But who were the masters of the Phoenicians? Most probably the Egyptians, and it is also most likely that they had had learned this art during their journeys there. Although the Phoenicians had many artisans, even they had to rely on other sources, which they came across through their cruises, and passed on their knowledge to others.
The Romans had worn sandals as casual wear and shoes on formal occasions. Roman sandals were made with thick leather or wooden soles, and were fixed with straps on the legs. Their shoes covered their feet until their ankles, and had their laces in their middle- just like modern shoes. AFashion of shoes has been developing with the history of mankind, and it still develops today. Shoes became essential ingredients of elegance together with clothing.
Fashion of shoes has been developing with the history of mankind, and it still develops today. Shoes became essential ingredients of elegance together with clothing. Bespoke shoes produced by master craftsmen became nowadays precious gems made for individualists. Each pair is a unique masterwork in its own right.Adapted to the characteristics of its wearer's feet, protecting them from the outer world expressing the refined taste, and sometimes social rank of the wearer; As they say, elegance begins with shoes. Manufacturing process of hand-made shoes has not changed throughout the centuries; The very same steps are applied nowadays as one or two centuries ago.
Each pair of bespoke shoes is a challenge. It takes a master's trained hands and attentive eyes, which must not fail from the first moment of fitting/taking the measures until the final handing over of the polished shoes.
Despite my young age I manufacture the classical models of world-famous shoe manufactures. The product range of my manufacture includes 24 models(e.g.: Budapest/full brogue derby, Vienna/half-brogue derby, etc.) traditional riding boots, shoes for riding, and leg protectors. All models are hand-made from exclusive natural raw materials in the robust and the more elegant welted technologies. My workflow can be seen live by the public each autumn in Szentendre/Hungary on the Wine Festival, where I regularly make a shoe manufacturing show.

Sincerely Yours:
